We witches.

During this series of photographs, I would like to explore the problem of stereotypicial thinking, I appropriated the idea of a ‘witch- women’ from the 15th-18th century.

Despite the passage of years and the blurring of boundaries, the male-female division still exists. And while I am not rushing to repair my own car, furthermore, I leave it to men, I disagree with many of the observed factors that still exist today. Looking at my own relationship as well as relationships of people who surround me, I come to the conclusion that the stereotype of the ’housewife’ still exists, even though women are educated, they have good jobs, they carry a sense of total responsibility for the house on their shoulders. This is due to stereotypes circulating in the world, moreover, we women bring up children in this way, which makes this phenomenon uninterrupted. It should be emphasized that even though women take up employment, we are perceived as less productive, assuming that women will give birth to children and take care of them, it is the man who becomes a better candidate for promotion. It should be emphasized that, although more women graduate from universities, it is men who occupy the managerial position. Although there is no legal division between men and women, in fact women are still perceived as weaker, and we are more exposed to domestic violence, violence and human trafficking. I believe that there will never be something like gender equality, because our behavior is passed down from generation to generation, in addition, stereotypes circulating around the world do not make it easier for women to fight for their own needs. It should also be emphasized here that Great Britain is a country where this problem is not so visible, but women in other cultures must grapple with this problem. I as Polish woman, I certainly have a fixed image of an obedient woman to some extent, under the influence of a demining man who mainly earns money for his family. Is it bad? I do not know, but I know women should demand respect and rights where they are not.
